SERVICE TECHNICIAN

Technician Summary:

Functions as a skilled-level technician who is able to perform diagnosis and repairs in all areas, in addition to being specialized in particular areas of repair.

     Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.

Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and performs repair. Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.

Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.

Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.

Communicates with service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.

Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order. Road tests vehicles when required.

Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events. Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.

Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.

Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean. Notifies service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.

Keeps shop area neat and clean.

Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as they were received.

Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.

Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.

Reports any safety issues immediately to management.


Qualifications/Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Must have the ability to read and accurately complete Ford Multipoint Inspection forms. Must have automotive experience or equivalent education.

Must have basic computer skills.

Must be self-motivated, have a positive attitude and work well with other team members.

Must have and maintain a valid driver's license with an acceptable record.  

Must have the ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications.

Works 8-hour shifts Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:30AM to 4:30PM with a rotating Saturday from 8AM to 1PM based on the number of Certified Service Technicians.   Hours are subject to change at supervisor's discretion.

Dealer Trade Driver

Kayser Ford of Sauk City is currently looking for an Dealer Trade Driver to join our team.

As a Dealer Trade Driver, you will drive vehicles to and from other dealerships, inspect vehicles for defects, filling vehicles with gas and delivering paperwork. Assist with picking up of used vehicles. Meet with customers to have miscellaneous paperwork signed. Help with other tasks as requested by Sales Managers or General Manager.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Drive to and from dealerships to pick up or drop off vehicles for dealer trades. Ensure necessary paperwork is complete, accurate, and matches the appropriate vehicle. Cross reference vehicle ID number and stock number for each vehicle.

  • Ensure that the vehicle being traded is clean and undamaged prior to making delivery. Inspect newly traded vehicles before accepting delivery from dealership.

  • Deliver vehicles to customers and/or meet with them to have paperwork completed.

  • Pick up used vehicles from auctions, customers, and vendors.

  • Alert sales managers of damages and mileage discrepancies.

  • Go to WI Dept of Motor Vehicles to have title work processed.

  • Completes any other duties as assigned by sales managers.

Qualifications

  • Valid Drivers License must be maintained

  • Flexible schedule

  • Requires being physically able to get in and out of the vehicle continuously throughout the day.

Automotive Detailer

Kayser Ford of Sauk City is currently looking for an Automotive Detailer to join our team.

As an Automotive Detailer, you are responsible for cleaning and refurbishing new, used, and customer automobiles while conforming to dealership and manufacturer specifications and time allowances.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Washes vehicle exterior, cleans interior and exterior of windows and wipes down door jambs.

  • Applies wax, wipes and/or buff exterior surface.

  • Vacuum interior of vehicle to remove loose dirt and debris.

  • Cleans upholstery, rugs and other surfaces, using appropriate cleaning agents, applicators and cleaning devices.

  • Applies revitalizers and preservation agents to interior vinyl or leather surfaces and treats fabrics with spot- and stain-resistant chemicals.

  • Cleans engine and engine compartment with steam-cleaning equipment and various cleaning agents.

  • Applies special-purpose cleaners to remove foreign materials which normal cleaning procedures do not remove, utilizing experience and judgment and following product manufacturer's recommendations.

  • Inspects vehicles for noticeable defects, such as dents, scratches, torn upholstery and poor mechanical operation.

  • Restores appearance of engine area, rugs and upholstery and painted surfaces. Uses touch-up paint, dyes and other appropriate materials.

  • Uses proper eye, hand and body protection when using products that require protection.

  • Fills vehicles with fuel.

  • Applies dressing on tires and tire wells.

  • Replaces missing or defective small parts.

  • Maintains showroom and stock vehicles in clean and presentable condition at all times.

  • Ensures proper stickers are displayed in the vehicle's window.

  • Removes all window stickers on sold vehicles.

  • Keeps the work area neat and clean.

  • Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.

  • Report any safety issues immediately to management.

Qualifications

  • Past experience detailing is preferred.

  • Experience using a buffer and carpet extractor is preferred.

  • Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable record.
